You can now access the Kerrie Kelly brand even more intimately through the Kerrie Kelly Design Lab Master Class offering. The Kerrie Kelly Design Lab offers a two-day master-class "day spa" in interior design courses. In order to share the best design secrets, the class includes guest speakers who have worked closely alongside Kerrie throughout her design careeer. Every master class allows up to 15 students to learn about Kerrie's approach to interior design, including styling, color selection, materials specification, budgeting and time management. Between sessions, meals and treats will be served-- all KK lifestyle approved!
Set at the heart of Kerrie's creative world, in Mid-town Sacramento, students will ultimately feel confident enough to begin designing their own interiors. Kerrie will even assist and assess plans created in the class for the final case study. At the conclusion of class and certificate presentations, instuctors and students are encouraged to network and relax.
In Fall 2009, Kerrie launched her book with Oxmoor House, Home Decor: A Sunset Design Guide. Part budget-conscious, part luxe, Kerrie reveals stunning new interior projects, and offers guidance on how to recreate a personal lifestyle.
Through her publishing activities, as with all initiatives, Kerrie has sought to combine a sense of calm and balance with clear creative thinking. The term most frequently used to describe her work is "approachable design," which concisely captures the fusion of contemporary simplicity with emotional and historical depth.
When describing her own work, Kerrie has said that "...the defining elements of great design are luxury, balance, light, and a sense of being at one with the natural and organic world." It is this belief that lies at the heart of Kerrie's approach within every business strand.
Kerrie's residential and corporate interiors strive to touch all the senses; her writing and her school are designed to be both accessible and inspirational; and most importantly, her approach to design is fundamentally inclusive. When designing for clients, Kerrie and her team begin with a detailed interview process to really understand the clients' needs and wants-everything from where they have breakfast to their sleeping habits. This lengthy process ensures that the design will grow from the client's lifestyle, rather than being added to it. "Our homes are living spaces in which we grow and change-and we must accept that this will happen only if our environment can grow and change with us," opines Kerrie. "I believe that for far too long we have been designing our homes without a real understanding of our needs-or those of our family, lover, children, or visitors."
Classes are offered April 24-25, 2010 and are limited to space availablity. All materials are included.
